Personal Therapy

The way I work is grounded in Solution-Focussed Therapy, which is a style of therapy which takes client strengths and resources as the starting point for supporting change. This means I do not seek to label, or put my clients in boxes. Instead I'm passionate about helping my clients find the confidence and self-belief to make the changes they want to make. I believe that by recognising our inner power, we can all achieve the futures we strive for.

I also work with a model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is a form of Cognitive-Bheavioural Therapy, backed by an extensive evidence base which shows its effectiveness. I use ACT to work with my clients to address their thoughts and feelings, and their relationship with these. ACT aims to change the relationship individuals have with unwanted or feared thoughts, feelings, memories, and physical sensations. I will support you step-by-step to be able to endure - indeed to accept - these, working with you to build your resources to cope with this acceptance.

I work with adults, couples, and young people (aged 16-25 years) experiencing a range of difficulties, including but not limited to: depression, anxiety, anger management, stress in the workplace, low self-esteem and confidence, dysfuntional eating and body image, domestic abuse, difficult relationships, alcohol misuse, obsessive-compulsion disorder.

“Nahid has been a wonderful therapist, providing me with a helpful toolkit to tackle obstacles I encounter in my everyday life. She is compassionate and attentive to my personal circumstances which have made our sessions particularly impactful. My therapy was specifically for body image improvement, but Nahid's guidance has helped me improve various areas of my life. She has given me the skills to develop my self-compassion and genuinely change my life for the better. Overall, I could not have asked for a better therapist and I am incredibly thankful for her hard work.”
